Для получения данных о владельце IP адреса, программа направляет запросы на сервера 5 региональных регистраторов IP адресов: ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC и AFRINIC. Для получения данных о владельце доменного имени, программа поддерживает отправку запросов на 88 серверов, которые предоставляют информацию по 120 доменам первого уровня. Программа также поддерживает запросы через web, методом POST и выдает результат в той же форме, что и обычные запросы. На данный момент программа может делать web запросы по 5 доменам первого уровня. Так же программа может определять название и версию удаленного web сервера. Для проверки доступности удаленного хоста HotWhoIs поддерживает функцию ping.
